And we thought that all this access would promote democracy...
On Monday the "Congress Online Project" released a study indicating that our elected representatives in Washington, D.C., can't handle all the e-mail they receive.

The study reported that 80 million messages came in last year to Congress. The response from our elected officials? The mail is "routinely ignored" because of a lack of staff or technology to handle it.
